Wow... that's great news! It's interesting that your wife responded to your step-by-step appoach and the scripture from Luke. We'll have to make sure to 'bookmark' this thread when someone wants suggestions on how to bring their spouse around to see the real truth.

Speaking to an Elder tomarrow, I'm almost free!!!!!!!
by drew sagan inmajor developments in my world, just wanted to let you all know about it.
i'm meeting with the elder tomarrow afternoon.
i'm going to stick heavy to the watchtowers interpretation of matthew 24 and how it is unbalanced, sensationalized and out of touch with any historical evidence or respect for the bible.

DaVinci Code & "Mankind's Search for God"
by proplog2 inthe watchtower doesn't want its members to see the da vinci code.
probably for the same reason they don't want its members to read their book "mankind's search for god".
they went to the trouble of researching and publishing this attractive well illustrated book.

Why is it not wrong to examine other faiths?
What factors usually determine a person’s religion?
Why is it not reasonable to assume that the religion of one’s birth is automatically approved by God?
What benefits are there in examining other religions?
Why should we not hate those whose religious thinking differs from ours?
Geez, it makes you wonder how the book ever passed inspection with those kind of probing questions. They would make people start thinking, and we couldn't have that, could we?

When you watch TV, do you find this bothersome?
by JH ini bought a new tv a few days ago, and i'm more prone to watch tv now and movies, but i noticed something that really bothers me.
i don't know if you find this bothersome, but do you mind watching a movie, and always see the tv station's "logo" on the bottom right of the screen?.
i know that they put that there on purpose incase you record the movie, and it's publicity for them, but i find it bothersome seeing that darn logo always displayed.

It's only bothersome to me when the logo is 'bright'.... some of them I hardly notice.
One more thing that I find bothersome, is when they ajust some TV commercials to 16:9 mode, and you see black on top and on the bottom. Then it comes back to normal full screen.
Get use to that...it's the future.

Real meaning of Memorial Day (US)
by joe_black intraditional observance of u.s. memorial day has diminished over the years.
many americans nowadays have forgotten the meaning and traditions of memorial day.
at many cemeteries, the graves of the fallen are increasingly ignored, neglected.

True Christians neutral in War?
by Van Gogh intoday i re-established contact with an older true - friend who is still a jw.
in the fifty years that he has been baptized he invested a lot of time and effort in helping the needy and elderly, loyally taking up responsibilities in the org as an elder, organizer, speaker and shepherd.
he is still out there as a lowly publisher, tirelessly going from door to door with only his bible.

Anyone that would conscientiously take his/her individual responsibility to refuse war could have a favorable position with Christ (including Muslims), including the many individual JWs. What is your position on those that profess to be Christian AND kill in a war?
According to whom? Didn't Jesus say to render unto "Caesar the things that are Caesar's and unto God the things that are Gods?" "Caesar's" draft during WWII was necessary to defeat the undeniable EVIL going on in the world. Evil will always exist and expand when 'good' people sit by and do nothing. We have the freedom to worship however we please (or not) because good people took a stand against evil and fought it. We are here typing freely on this board because of the blood and sacrifices of a generation who have almost passed away. Humanity was lucky to survive that ominous time.
